Loud, funky and completely ballistic, The Kite Machine are Geelong’s premier Funk Rock export.

The band was formed in 2011 as the brainchild of front man Levi Anderson. Recruiting drummer Kane Sherriff and bassist Liam Brennan, the trio has carved a serious niche in the independent music scene with tight grooves and manic riffs as their signature.

The group’s recorded debut ‘The Crook and the Skank’ (2012) set the bar for their distinctive funk driven styling. Reflected in its sold out limited press, ‘The Crook and the Skank’ EP was met with widespread acclaim…

“ …Utterly addictive … the whole thing is hardly tame. I was super impressed with these Victorian gentlemen so give them a whirl … “ – Stef Italia, The Ripe

With their sophomore effort, ‘LUNITICS’ (2015), the band met more success with the title track reaching no.1 on the Triple J Unearthed charts. The second single ‘Shadows’ peaked at no.2. Capturing their infectious energy through the lens – ‘The Kite Machine // On Film’ shows the band performing their electric live show to a packed house at ‘The Studio’ in Geelong.

Armed with the new lineup, The Kite Machine is embarking on a national tour to celebrate the release of killer new single ‘Charlotte’. These fuzzed out precisionists deliver.

“… No unfounded hype around this band, just a genuine excitement of what might be the best thing to come out of Geelong in years … “ – Steve Haylock
